FloQast Alternative for Small Business and FloQast Pricing
If your close is slow because bank and card accounts will not tie out, the FloQast alternative that fits a small business is the reconciliation already in QuickBooks, Xero or Sage plus a statement matching tool, for $49 to $399 a month. FloQast sells annual contracts with a median around $24,500 a year, and it earns that when several accountants share a checklist driven close.
Upload one bank statement and the ledger export for that account. See matches, gaps and duplicates in minutes.
Reconcile one account nowFloQast usually comes up when a controller at a growing company types "month end close software" after another close ran past day ten. It is a good product with a clear audience: accounting teams that already reconcile in Excel and want one checklist, sign off and links from each workbook to the general ledger. The question for a small business is whether that is the problem you actually have. In most companies with one to three people in finance, the days are lost on a narrower job: getting bank and credit card accounts to agree with the statements. That job has a much cheaper fix.
FloQast pricing and what buyers report paying
FloQast does not publish a price list. There is no plans page and no self serve sign up; you book a demo and get a quote for an annual contract. The best public view of real prices comes from procurement platforms that see buyer contracts. Vendr reports a median of about $24,500 a year across more than 300 FloQast purchases, with contracts ranging from roughly $10,200 to $68,600. Third-party write ups describe the price as driven by the size of the accounting team, the modules taken (close, reconciliation, transaction matching, flux analysis, compliance) and the number of entities, with implementation often priced on top and renewals rising a few percent a year.
Those numbers move with every negotiation, so treat them as a range rather than a quote, and recheck them before you budget. What does not move is the shape: an annual commitment in the five figures before anyone has reconciled a single account in the tool.
What the FloQast price buys
The core of FloQast is close management. Every task in the close sits on a shared checklist with an owner, a due date and a reviewer. Reconciliations stay in Excel, but each workbook is tied to the GL balance from your ERP, so the tool shows when a rec no longer agrees with the books. Transaction matching handles high volume accounts. Flux analysis explains movements between periods, and compliance features help with SOX documentation. It connects to NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics and other ERPs.
Every one of those features pays off when there are several people to coordinate and an auditor asking who reviewed what. Put a two person team in front of it and the checklist mostly tracks the same two names, while the bank accounts still have to be matched line by line somewhere.

Numeric and BlackLine are the other names on most FloQast shortlists. Numeric is a newer close platform with a similar audience and quote based pricing (our Numeric alternative for small business comparison has its buyer pricing). BlackLine sits above both, built for multi-entity companies with SOX programs; if it is on your list too, the BlackLine alternative for small business comparison covers it with the same lens.
Which option fits your team size
Team size is the most reliable guide, more than revenue. A company with one bookkeeper and an outside CPA has nobody to route a checklist to. A company with a controller and two staff accountants starts to feel the coordination pain, but often still finds that most of the slip comes from cash accounts. Somewhere past four or five people in accounting, with an ERP and an audit, close software stops being overhead and starts saving real days.
| Finance team | Sensible setup | First year cost |
|---|---|---|
| Owner plus bookkeeper, 1 to 3 bank accounts | Built in reconcile screen, BankReconciler Starter for PDF banks and problem months | $288 on the annual Starter plan |
| Controller plus 1 or 2, up to 5 entities | Built in screen plus BankReconciler Business for every cash account | $1,788 at $149 a month |
| Outsourced accounting firm, many clients | BankReconciler Firm across client ledgers | $4,788 at $399 a month |
| 5 or more accountants, ERP, audit | FloQast, Numeric or BlackLine | Quote, about $24,500 median for FloQast |
Small businesses with PDF statements and a single owner reviewing the numbers will find the owner's view on the bank reconciliation software for small business page.
A month end routine without close software
- List the accounts. Operating, payroll, savings, every credit card. Note which bank sends PDFs only and which feed has gaps.
- Export the ledger side. From QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite or anything else, export each cash account register for the month to Excel or CSV with date, reference, description and amount, including items still open from earlier months.
- Run the match. Upload the statement and the export. BankReconciler runs six passes: exact amount and date, check or reference number, amount inside a date window, grouped matches where up to six entries add up to one bank line to the cent, then duplicates and near matches.
- Fix it in your books. Post missing fees and interest from the adjusting entries file, void duplicates, then tick the matched items in your own reconcile screen and finish.
- Sign it off. Download the bank reconciliation report per account with preparer and reviewer, and keep a simple shared list of who closes what by which day. A spreadsheet does that job for a team of two.
Run this way, the bank side of the close takes an hour or two instead of the better part of a week. If the next drag after cash is vendor bills waiting on approvals, it is usually cheaper to automate accounts payable approvals than to buy a full close platform to track them. For the matching itself across many accounts, automated bank reconciliation explains the passes and the status board.
What you give up without FloQast
Being plain about this prevents a bad purchase in either direction. BankReconciler reconciles bank and credit card accounts against a ledger export. It does not run a close checklist with dependencies, tie Excel workbooks for accruals and prepaids to live GL balances, explain fluxes, or produce SOX control evidence. It does not connect to your ERP; it works from files, which is why there is no onboarding and also why someone downloads each statement each month.
If your auditors already ask for evidence of review across the balance sheet, or you have five accountants waiting on each other every month end, FloQast belongs on the shortlist and its price is defensible. If you expect to get there in a year or two, months of clean, signed bank reconciliations will make that implementation faster. FloQast alternative questions
What is a good alternative to FloQast for a small business?
For a small business whose close is mostly bank and credit card accounts, the reconciliation inside QuickBooks, Xero or Sage plus a statement matching tool for the accounts that do not tie out. That covers the hard part of the close for $49 to $399 a month. FloQast fits teams of several accountants with a checklist driven close.
How much does FloQast cost?
FloQast does not publish prices and sells annual contracts after a demo. Buyer data published by Vendr shows a median of about $24,500 a year across more than 300 purchases, with contracts from roughly $10,200 to $68,600. Implementation is often quoted separately. Treat these as a range, since deals vary.
Is FloQast good for small business?
It can be for a growing company with three or more accountants, an ERP such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct and an audit to prepare for. For an owner with a bookkeeper or a one person finance function, most of what FloQast sells, the shared close checklist and sign off workflow, has nobody to coordinate.
Does FloQast do bank reconciliation?
Yes. FloQast ties reconciliations in Excel workbooks to the general ledger balance and offers transaction matching for high volume accounts. It manages the reconciliation process rather than replacing your bank statement. You still need the statement and the ledger detail to agree line by line. On NetSuite, see NetSuite bank reconciliation, and on Sage Intacct, Sage Intacct bank reconciliation.
Is there a FloQast free trial?
FloQast does not list a self serve free trial. Access starts with a demo and a quote. BankReconciler lets you run one real month of your own statement and ledger export before you pay, so you can judge it on your actual accounts.
